Zoom Meeting Recap: A Chat with NOUN’s Vice-Chancellor
This morning, we had the opportunity to join a pivotal Zoom meeting with our esteemed Vice-Chancellor. It was an enlightening session, packed with updates, advice, and essential information that every NOUN student needs to know.
If you missed it, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered with all the details.
Date & Time
Date: Saturday, September 21, 2024
Time: 10:00 a.m. West Central Africa Time
Key Highlights
1. Complaint Handling
Our Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of addressing issues promptly. If you have any concerns or face any problems, the best course of action is to visit your study center. This approach ensures quicker resolution and helps the administration stay on top of student needs.
2. Examinations
Due to some ongoing issues with the student portal, the scheduled exams will be postponed. While this might be inconvenient, it’s necessary to ensure everything runs smoothly. Keep an eye out for new exam dates and updates to the academic calendar.
3. TMA (Tutor-Marked Assignments)
The start date for TMA is still up in the air. Last semester saw some cases of TMA misconduct. Be cautious and adhere strictly to the guidelines to avoid penalties.
4. Course Materials
Timely registration is crucial! Only those who register on time will receive hard copies of their course materials. Late registration might leave you without the necessary resources.
5. Social Media Posting
The management has noticed a trend of students airing NOUN-related issues on social media, which can harm the institution’s reputation. Instead, they urge everyone to report problems at their study centers.
6. E-Learning Portal
Some of us haven’t been able to access our courses on the e-learning portal. This is because the management is waiting for more registrations. They anticipate uploading the courses by next week, so hang tight!
7. Graduation List
Exciting news for those graduating! The Vice-Chancellor is pushing for the graduation list to be released every semester instead of waiting until the end of the academic session. This change aims to streamline the process and keep everyone informed.
8. Registration Deadline for 2024_2 Semester
There’s no update yet on the closing date for 2024_2 semester registration. Stay tuned for announcements, and make sure to register early to avoid any hassles.
9. Online Facilitation and TMA
Specific dates for “Online Facilitation” and TMA have not been announced. It’s a waiting game, but rest assured, updates will come soon.
10. Student Email
The school email is now mandatory for all students. It will be essential for most portal activities, so ensure yours is functional and you can access it without issues.
11. General Advice
The Vice-Chancellor left us with some valuable advice: always stay prepared and plan ahead for your studies. It’s crucial for success at NOUN, especially with the dynamic nature of our programs.
It was a fruitful meeting, and we hope this recap helps those who couldn’t attend. Let’s continue to support each other and make the most of our time at NOUN. Remember, your study center is your best friend for resolving issues and getting the help you need.
