Church member responds after pastor questions her education

Anyim Vera, a member of Dunamis International Gospel Centre in Abuja, Nigeria, recently shared a testimony about being the first graduate in her family.

During her speech, she mentioned obtaining a law degree from the National Open University.

However, Pastor Paul Eneche interrupted her, pointing out there’s no such thing as a “BSc in Law” (the degree Vera mistakenly used). Vera has since taken to Facebook to clarify that it was simply a slip-up due to her limited English proficiency.

She confirmed graduating with a Law degree (LLB) from NOUN. Vera expressed disappointment at being publicly called out by her spiritual leader, especially since evidence of her education exists (referencing her graduation rank).

She wrote: “It’s disheartening because I couldn’t speak English like lawyers. I was labelled a liar for mistakenly saying B.Sc instead of LLB. Actually, I graduated with a Third Class at NOUN.”

“I am no. 2262 on the graduation list. I, Vera, deserve better now.” Social media posts from Vera suggest she is a police officer.

NOUN Graduate Responds to Dunamis Pastor Paul Eneche

“The rejected stone can become the cornerstone. We’re reminded not to look down on anyone. You can’t imagine what I endured throughout the service. How shattered I must have felt to be disgraced by my spiritual leader in such a manner?”
